There are a number of companies that make good quality, inexpensive stick tooling. I prefer those with a single top clamp. Some holders require 2 different size allen wrenches when indexing the insert.
It will be interesting to see how the demo goes. We are trying to get a machine open in late August for them to come on site and run on our "problem" part. They will be bringing the tooling. I am under the impression that the insert is unique.
I have been programming, operating , and setting up Mazaks for three decades. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Just curious, where are you located? I have helped on site a couple of people who were new to Mazatrol.
Seems to me that if it is chatter that he is trying to defeat, why all the material hanging out? Clearance problems I cant see? If your not rigid, you got problems.

Sandvik is getting pretty heavily involved in programming software. I think they just bought MasterCam. This is a module for their CoroPlus Tool Path software. We are hoping to get Sandvik to come out and demo it for us on one of our NLX's. I have no idea what the software costs.
We have a job that is made from drawn over mandrel tubing. We thread the o.d. and have always fought the chips. I found this cool little trick from Sandvik.
Anyone familiar with it or anything similar?
