Is there any very old Yaskawa robot support?

Got a Fanuc welding robot going that was sitting for awhile. Encoder batteries were dead, so robot needed remastered. (Which is lining up the witness marks at each joint.) Didn't have to do anything on the control side other than replace a bad power supply. I can't remember if there is any...

For Sale - N.O.S. Seco Inserts...

I love my Octomills! Any inserts for them? The inserts I'm using are OFER070405TN. I also have a Hi-Pro kit that I could use inserts for. The one cutter in the kit uses SEKR1203AFTN inserts. The other I'm not sure, it might be a Turbomill, I have no extra inserts for it. Holder is a...

Would you buy a used wire EDM machine?

I have been down the cheap used wire EDM road-it certainly is doable from an engineering standpoint if you're the right kind of guy. My first machine was a '84 Mitsubishi F1 series machine. I purchased 2 of them from an EDM shop in Columbus. This was about 20 years ago. Both were not running...

    Any advice on Siemens control?

Another Cincinnati CNC control user here. I like Mud have not had recent experience with Siemens, but years back it wasn't good-fortunately there were other options. Independent repair tech is huge to have on your side. I'd be concerned more with the quality/integration of the machine...

    Micro Drilling-Speeds, feeds, setup?

I have a job of drilling small brass parts with a #80 drill. The holes go through about .050" of material. I'm not finding much information on what speeds/feeds to to run the drill at. Online, or in books such as Machinery's Handbook. Setup will be on a CNC mill with a 10K spindle. For tool...

    Where are all the RFQ’s

Thanks for sharing the Dualkit story again, good cautionary tale. The jump from job shop to product is tough. The Garwood list of ideas is great, but how will they sell, and how do you get the product in front of the right people? It might end up your shop is going to turn into more of a...

    Any users of Kipware?

Do any of you guys that have a full blown CAD/CAM package also use Kipware? I'd be interested in hearing your experience with it, and if its something that offers time savings for simple parts?

    CNC Machining Helical Oil Grooves

I'm working on machining figure 8 oil grooves in bronze bearings, using a manual lathe. 3.5" ID, 4" lead, 1/8" grooves. Grooves have specific start/stop points. (In other words, the grooves have to be captive in the bushing, the grooves can not lead in/out.) Lathe's slowest speed is 11 RPM...

Any of you guys have experience with Fermat?

Laser hardening on a machining center-wow, that is interesting-was not aware of it, reading up on it. Similar to Vancbiker's thoughts, I've personally had a bad experience with Euro electronics compared to Japanese. I bought a late 1980's Euro machine with a Fanuc 0 control. After I bought it...

    Tumble Blasters?

Per the specs from Clemco, the DCM-161 uses 17 cfm @ 60 PSI. I'm not sure of the new cost from Clemco, I picked mine up from HGR. It was in very nice shape, ready to use. I believe it was around $400 I paid for it.
