XZ shown coordinates when using automatic tool nose radius compensation

If you single block thru your code the compensated values should be noticeable.

At what point does drill length become an RPM limit?

I think you’ll be fine. I’ve run 3/16” drills at 10” stick-out pretty fast with no problems.

Haas Macro - Write settings, Move table before tool change, lock settings,

Ok I’ve re-read this and sorta think I know what you want to do? Copy O9000 and call it O9001. Put your table move in 9001 and when you want to do a normal tool change call 9000. When you want to move the table before a tool change call 9001. No need to mess around with variables.

Haas Macro - Write settings, Move table before tool change, lock settings,

Could you explain what you are trying to do? My Haas does not have variables in the 9000 range. Why do you need to unlock parameters to do what you are trying to do? You don’t need to hit e-stop.

    How to for this spacer....

Like Barbter, GFN3 here, neutral rake. If you start the part off and go lower than the chamfer in X there’s no side pressure. Most of the time the cut off side doesn’t look to great, and the cutoff tit or burr on the edge of a thru hole isn’t great either.

    How to for this spacer....

Personally I start the part-off, then chamfer with the part-off, then completely part off. I can usually get to X .1 or .2 before I slow the RPM to keep it from flying somewhere.

    Minium spindle speed for VMC

I’m gonna go against the grain here. What’s an average cycle time for you? What’s an average quantity? So if you max out your speeds and feeds the job gets done Tues morning instead of Tues afternoon? Does that matter at this stage of your business? I run mostly <50 pc jobs so while one...

    Bar feeders.....???

I have an LNS Eco Load bar loader. I run 3' bars to keep the stock in the spindle. I've run lights-out with it many times. Fully pneumatic, not servo driven, just an encoder. I've run 2" stock on it and it worked fine. Just really noisy when loading the next bar. I've loaded hex stock with it...

    Lathe tooling....??

I bought my first one so I could measure it. All the rest I made. Late to this thread, but I use even number turret positions for OD tools and odd numbers for ID.

    spindle gripper questions

I assume a side mount toolchanger? Make the gripper tool a large tool so it goes back in the same pot. Make the tool 3 pots away a large tool so it goes back in the same pot. Pre-stage that tool when you want to load/unload.
