    Rotary indexer servo swap.

    Have a real nice koma 12 " rotary which has Fanuc yellow cap servo. Is it possible to put a red cap AC servo on it, anyone done this? Is the bolt pattern the same? I don't see any reason the table cares what servo sits on it..........electrical is still controlled by the drive etc.

    How to fixture this stud in VMC......

    Soft jaw question...lathe

    Job is holding a 3" long .500 dia threaded stud into which a hole will be drilled (.250 dia x.400 deep) Job does not justify a collet chuck......... Threads cannot be damaged so no hard jaws. Can one use soft jaws and bore hole undersized, say .437+/- and run from there? Seems simple enough...

    Warm-up Cycle...really needed?

    You can't believe everything you read on the internet...so Is a warmup cycle mandatory, a good idea or a waste of machine time? I'm thinking maybe a good idea...but not seeing how a few min of movement affects any thermal issues. Maybe moves some lube around..... Anyone here do cycles?
