Rather than drag that other thread along, I'd like to ask some direct questions here to maybe keep it more concise.

1) Who do you like for spindle liners? Need 1-5/16", preferably with some extension.
1a) How do I remove the spindle liner that's in there now?

2) I get random alarms. Previous owner told me it'd do this if I didn't keep a fan on some components in the panel and he was right. What the heck are these things?

3) Mazatrol is awesome, but I don't have the operator's manual for this machine. If anyone has one for a 1990 vintage T-32-2 I'd love a copy! Mazak hasn't been super easy to deal with.

4) Preferred way oil?

5) How do I tune the spindle drive for slower ramps, up and down. I'm not a production shop, I can spare a second or two to make the spindle drive's lie easier.

I think that's all I have for now...

What are you needing to point the fan at? Control? Servo drive? Spindle drive? exc?

4) Preferred way oil?
The manuals should spec something. I run Vaculine 1409 in everything I own that takes way lube. Not cause it's right but because I have 100+ gallons of it. IIRC it's a hydraulic oil that is made to be used in systems where the hydraulic system also lubes the ways.

Looks like contactors and heaters. I would identify which one is tripping. It could be getting old and weak or you could have a mild over current condition. Or someone may have accidentally turned one of the heaters down.

Someone has been in there playing around cause the cover to the cable tray is gone. EDIT: not gone, but not on 🤪

Do you have a schematic of the machine so you can easily look to see what the faulty one does?

The heaters have an adjustable trip knob on them there.

If you don't feel like fixing it right sometimes turning the knobs to a higher setting will postpone the problems for a bit.

What the contactors do is usually scribbled next to them by a past owner or if the MTB was nice they will put stickers with decipherable abbreviations. If you have none of those look at the books.

If you want to live dangerously turn the control off and manually energize the contactors with a dull pencil to see what happens.

Torque all the terminal screws. I've had overloads trip because the connections loosened slightly and the increased resistance made things warmer.
I've also had other odd problems caused by loose connections. I replaced a Heidenhain scale converter box about 5 times because of a loose connection on the axis servo encoder wires on the drive box.
A laser IR temp gun is handy on the overloads.

Excellent tip! I'll do some checking here shortly.

Fired it up and it went down for phase loss, reset it, down for E-Stop, reset, down for System Malfunction, then it's been humming along nicely.

I did find a loose ground on the drive, I doubt that'd constitute a phase loss, but maybe?

The alarm ended up being a bad servo drive. Repaired and now it's all good.

Have you looked through the list of manuals for download in the Mazak forum? I realize they are QT 10 stuff, but you may find something relevant.

I have the Mechanical Parts List manual 1of2 I got from Mazak for our 92 SQT18 I could send over if you'd like. That's the only digital manual I have. Shoot me a PM with your email if you'd like it.

1. As far as spindle liners go, we prefer Trusty Cook.

4. DTE 24 for Lube

I'd love that, I'll send an email later. Ended up with Vactra #1 for the lube.

On liners, I've just been making my own.

Sounds good.

For our Mazak, we just make donuts out of UHMW with a set screw.
