2008 vf2ss anyone change thrust bearings yet? anything special I should know about?

then the spindle motor to spindle rubber drive connector. Same question anyone done this yet? I heard these go out alot. do I need to get anything else or just the connector?

I been lucky and haven't had a problem with the machine yet, the finish on the Y axis looks like it thrust bearing time.
and the spindle has been making a loose kinda noise when rigid tapping.

I've got a 2015 VF-3SS here. I false-brinelled my Y axis thrust bearings doing repeated dynamic slots .020" wide with a .010" endmill along the X axis. Had the HFO replace them, it wasn't too expensive, took about a day and I think $1500.

Funny, we have a 2020 machine that the Y axis thrust bearings have gone bad. Under warranty, so just an inconvenience now, but I wonder if they cheaped out on them recently?
