So were you using G84.2?

My Hitachis use M29 with G84 or G841 alone
My Yasnacs use G93 to sync the spindle in G84
My Mitsus use r1 to sync the spindle but there is usually a setting to so you don't need to call r1 in your tapping cycle.
I was just using G84. Never heard of G84.2.

On Tour....
I don't know how you did it John, but posting that info just made me realize if I took a small, rigid coolant line (like 3/16" brake line size) and pointed it at my toolchanger lug/chip accumulation shelf it would stay nice and clean of chips.

Thanks for the Nickel/copper info and for triggering an apophony!
Obviously....if you feed with big bore hose, and then have a reducing small bore nozzle, make it easy to disconnect the nozzle (to clean) as it will occasionally block with chips from the pump!

Our old MC-86 with 15M control takes G84.2 for rigid tap.
That would be about the closest thing to this machine I could hope to compare to.

Is it just G84.2 or is there a sync M-code like M29 or such?

I looked through my m-code list and there's nothing that says tapping or spindle sync.

It has been my experience that if a machine uses a G code other than a straight G84 then that code automatically syncs the spindle.

Just G84.2 no other code. Ours is a couple years older, but more than likely the same programming.
