Desperately need H-408-1 screw for old Valenite E-Z Set boring bar. Somebody used a 5/64 ball end allen wrench to loosen screw and it broke off. it is jammed pretty well. Been unable to get it out.

Lots of listings on the internet, nobody actually has any.

If I can identify it I'll look through my Valenite hoard. Can you post a good photo of the screw and of what the bar looks like?

The Screw. About 9/16 long, 8-32 thread.

Anything would help. Hate to throw away the tool because of a missing screw.

Here's what fell into my outstretched hands on the first pass through. The 2 cartridges appear to be the same OD as the one in the bar, I suspect they would fit the same heads but have a different clamping method. I'll loan you whatever you need if you send back the same thing or something to be decided later. I have 20 minutes to catch the UPS truck pickup time.20230707_153438.jpg20230707_153441.jpg20230707_153451.jpg20230707_153513.jpg20230707_153544.jpg

Yeah, those are a little different. The one that's in the head looks a little closer.

Send any you want. Will return along with a chit for beer when we finish these damn aircraft motors.

Thanks.

OK, it's due to arrive at your address on Wednesday. UPS bill is $34.74. I'm sending the sliding head with cartridge and one of the other cartridges. The clamping is real different on the newer cart, loosen the screw over a clean tray, it's short and I almost lost it

Oh Fuck.
That's CAT 50, right? I'll see what else I have that might work. What is your finish diameter?
Sorry!

Yeah, CAT 50 tooling. Finish 5.5 inch dia., 11 inch deep. . Don't worry about it. We found another boring head in the back that is working just as well.

Got some screws that are pretty close to what we wanted. A little modification to them and the Valenite will be back to work.

Looked again, still found nothing. I thought I had some slab side tools like that, can't find them now of course. Did find 3 Devlieg cartridges with 1" threads but they won't work either.
Just send them back the cheapest way, USPS is fine, and forget the outgoing UPS, I'll credit that to my ongoing education.
You might try Small Tools Inc, or Hemly Tool for the cartridge or screws you need.
Do you need adjusting wrenches for those heads? I have a bag full, if you give me the sizes you use I'll mail you a few.
