Anyone know what is the oldest version of mastercam that can run on a new computer with windows 7 or 10? Anyone have a disc and dongle they'd sell?

I'm running on a copy of X I bought at an auction a long time ago and it does everything I need and then some. Only problem is it requires XP to work and XP computers were last made in 2008.

I don't like F360. Too much shit I don't need/want and they change stuff right about when I figure it out.

I should probably buy one of the cheaper cam packages like EZ cam or such, but I have no problem with old Mastercam if I could get into it for the same out of pocket.

I'm sure you can run X on 7, in compatibility mode.
Buying another seat (private) is no go as it is never yours,. unless you buy the company/transfer name, of the registered owner.
Then CNC (Mastercam owners) want a transfer fee for you doing it....

@Garwood You could be in luck.....Lee just posted in another forum he's shutting up shop and retiring.
He's a 1x man band and I'm not sure what version he's running but it will be currentish.
Could be an opportunity to buy/transfer a seat?

I prefer version 9 though I have up to X5. I just had a new solid state, XP pro machine built, loaded up with my programs and files in case my 2005 ish one dies, I think it was 700 bucks, there are still a lot of big operations using 32 bit processors so they are still easy to get, just not at Walmart or Costco
