How many tools are in that chain? What machine?
30 tool, 2000 Hitachi Seiki VS40 High Grade. 25/30hp 12k die and mold spindle, pallet changer, 30 tool extended chain, 300 gal coolant, bell shape accel deccel curves, and a few more options I can't think of off the top of my head. The machine was specced out to do a couple shows before it's was sold so it pretty well optioned for what it is. Max feed when running G8 is 1575 ipm 🤯

I just started looking for a 2010ish Makino that's loaded with every high speed option they had. Gotta get rid of some equipment to make room.

Seems like an awlfully slow TC for a machine like that. Is there no way to prestage the tool? Or is that w/prestage?

That was pre-staging them. It's a fixed address so it always puts the tool back in the same pot it originally came from. It's never really an issue cause it's very rare that I only use a tool for a few seconds, plus I usually run at least 4 parts at a time.

I've though about turning up the speed on the tool chain since it's servo driven and treated as a 4th axis but it I doubt it would be worth the time and effort. We all have plans but never any time to do them haha

Thats my biggest grip about our Hass's is even with pre stage the tool pre call in the G43 line the tool drum has a dwell at each pot. Once a tool migrates to the opposite side it constantly has to wait.
