Got Q1 dialed in yesterday. Got Q2 where I want it today. Now there is just Q3, Q4 and Q5 left to tune

Also that is not just a rectangle pocket, it is lofted from a rectangle to a circle with offset centers forming a true 3D shape

AFAIK G08 is a lookahead/data smoothing control that was superceded by G05.1

I have never used, my machines are either new enough to have G05.1 or old enough to have neither

I will try to go into more detail later cause I am currently getting ready to leave to go look at another VS40 for sale

HS is a bit "special" in that G251 P0 turns on lookahead. G08 P1 turns on preceding control which is accel/deccel BEFORE interp as well as a few other details. The Q values allow me to set different time constants for both before and after interp, allowable speed difference, max corner speed, min corner speed exc. These Q values actually change the parameters in the machine.

If I set the control to 15 format then G5.1 P1 and G5.1 Q1 control lookahead and preceding control but I loose the ability to to call different Q values for preceding control. It also changes extra work offsets from G540 to G54.1P1 format or something like that.
