What is this stuff called??

The rear Y slide cover on my Hyundai-Kia has a gap that opens and closes a little as the table moves, originally this gap was covered by a piece of coated fabric. I need to replace it, but I am having a hard time finding anything that looks like it.

I think something with "PVC Coated" in the name.
It's a tarp looking thing.

Hypalon fabric or pvc fabric or neoprene fabric. Most likely neoprene. PVC fabric doesn’t hold up well to many coolants, it gets stiff. Hypalon is what high grade inflatable boats are made of. Not sure about chemical resistance but it is good about oils and fuels.

If narrow enough, cut a new one from old firehose. Firehose is indestructible stuff.

My Hitachi's have something similar. I'll text my Hitachi buddy and see what he has to say

You could try writing this fellow, (Scott) and ask if he has a source for said material. FYI, he makes back packs for caving out of similar material, which is exceptionally durable, in the harshest of environments.

Mention that a Caver/Swaygo customer sent you that way, and that you're using it for an industrial/CNC application.

I think it's neoprene coated nylon strands - called "reinforced neoprene"
Looks like 1.5mm think? Used it as a face insert on a putter once long ago....trying to remember where I got it from..."James xxx" was the rubber company but can only remember the "James" part....
Perhaps contact these and ask thickness - cheap enough?

Gregor - it was James Walker....but I can't find it on their website.
This was the stuff I used anyway - very very good. Used it bonded to clamps too - for clamping (flatish) cast surfaces and thin walls - extra grip!

Cheers Terry, I actually even have an account with James Walker, however I have already found and ordered some of the Hypalon stuff that Kevin recommended. It can be purchased in 150mm wide strips for inflateable rib repairs. Given that purpose, it's going to be a lot thicker than the original stuff which is only 0.4mm thick, but that shouldn't be an issue...

Thanks for all the replies guys.
