I've been binging on Ebay bore gages lately. I've got a few that are missing the curved plastic lens over the face or it is loose and falls off.

Is there an economical way to fix these?

Is that what they're called- "crystals"? That might help my searching...

Thanks!

IIRC you need a special press to dome the lenses. I remember looking into it a long time ago to fix a trav-a-dial and concluded it was not worth the effort compared to low cost DROs. Maybe worth it if you have a few items to repair.
The press is needed to shrink the lens to install it?

I believe so. It was probably close to 10 years since I looked into it.

Interestingly, the tool to DIY it is $40 and Long Island Indicator charges $40 to install a crystal if you ship them your bezel.

These look about the same whomever is selling them so I just bought the cheapest one I could find. For $16 I don't expect much, but I don't need to use it much either.
