I'm sure this is a long shot but does anyone have any experience with one of these?

It's a 12,000# hydraulic carry deck crane

Going to look at one this week. Has a JD diesel and heated cab
No good can come from this.....:d
Seriously, I went to an auction where there was 2 of them next to each other (larger rough terrain cranes)
it was obvious the one had a worn/bent boom.

I helped fix a telescoping bucket truck (small one) and was changing out the shims at the "mouth" of the non moving part.
it was obvious that the wear plate (nylon) was worn, looking at the shims.

IIRC Grove is in Pa, closer to you than me, maybe a phone call to tech help ?

This machine appears to have very minimal use, maybe a couple hundred hours. The telescoping boom has almost no wear and the adjustments still have the factory paint on them from never having been adjusted. Cosmetically it looks a little rough as it appears to have spent it's life outside but that is ok by me. I'm always concerned with anything that has shiny paint.

Going to call today and set up a test drive.

Not much deck compared to others I’ve seen. Looks handy though.

There have been a couple times where I sure would have preferred to rig a VMC from overhead. Then there are press brakes. Seriously top heavy and not much of a base to pick from.

Way back when I was learning the ropes with my dad we bought a 7 tonne Iron Fairy yard crane which is a very similar layout to yours. We really paid scrap money for it because it needed a lot of work, and we gave it what it needed without spending too much time making it pretty. That crane despite being higher lift capacity than yours didn't have outriggers, which really limited it for reach.

Nonetheless it was an extremely useful machine to have around. Did some pretty sketchy things with it and somehow managed not to kill myself or anyone else. We bought a Binns and Berry Trident L1000, which is a big machine, and put it in with that crane, hovering the lathe half an inch off the ground, at way too big of a lift radius to get it through the door. WAY overloaded, almost had the rims on the ground, I was convinced the tires were gonna blow, but somehow they didn't.

Edit: not my picture but this is the same model Iron Fairy:

How far out will it pick 12,000? Will it pick more in close?
That's up pretty tight with the outriggers down. Unlike the new stuff, the old machine will tip over long before they break. 12k is 85% of tipping. I'm sure it would pick a lot more with an 18K dozer chained to it o_O

Same with the old Iron Fairy. Rated for 7Te right in close with the boom basically upright. That's 15432lbs according to google - pounds are a pretty foreign concept to me somehow.

The lathe I mentioned in my previous post supposedly weighs 11Te, or 24250lbs and we had the boom closer to horizontal to get it under the door. It couldn't lift the boom, but it could still hoist up...

Actually crazy, now that I think about it...
