Lost out on about 50 shrink fit holders on ebay yesterday so I ordered half a dozen holders from Maritool to calm my auction nerves o_O. Free UPS ground shipping which will be here tomorrow. mari5 gets 5% off orders over $1500 and mari7 gets 7% over $3000.

I expect them to be perfect but will report back tomorrow. This is my first time buying from them as I run mostly shrinks, milling chucks and hydraulics

I recently bought six 3/8 cat 40 endmill holders from Frank, the first one has been doing a bang up job but the other five haven't done a damn thing other than sit there looking pretty and it doesn't seem they learned anything watching the other one working its ass off.

I have a fair number of his holders as I leave the tools mounted and keep offset files to go with them making set ups easier, they are always first rate, well packed and quick to show up. My wife says she wishes he would put pretty colors on them like some of the rainbow endmills from Destiny

Every single holder including sidelocks are coming in at 30 millionths TIR which tells me it's my less than perfect taper and these are ground better than I can measure.
That wouldn't surprise me a bit. He recently picked up a new Toyoda or Studer OD grinder and it's the cat's meow.

I recently bought a bunch of lightly used BT40 Maritool holders for one of my machines. They all looked great except for one. Collet didn't fit right, threads were generally not great looking. I looked real close and found it said Shars on it, not Maritool. All the rest are Maritool and are great.

Hey guys!
Thanks for the great feedback. Yea we just got a new Studer about 2 years ago. But our Toyoda cnc cylindrical grinder is still the cats ass. Hard to say which one is more accurate. The way the hydrostatic wheel head bearings are it creeps a little forward during its first 30-40 minutes. But since we know that we just turn on the spindle and let it run for an hour, do a dress cycle, and we are holding size all day. With the Studer you dont need that precaution.
