We have a set of plate rolls. I’m thinking of some sleeves/arbors/dies I can slide over the upper roll to allow us to roll angle and thin wall tubing. The angle request is just for a few pcs of 1-1/2”x3/16, but we also use a lot of 1” or 2” rolled angle rings for duct flanges. They are pretty cheap to buy, but can tie up some project time and we have to drive a few hrs to pick them up. The rolls are 8” diameter btw.

Does that already exist for plate rolls?
thoughts on how to arrange or constrain spacers?
Thanks

You don't fancy a set of section ring rollers?

They are worth their weight in gold if you work with that kind of stuff...

I’d love some, could you point me to some good brands or models? Needs to be used :)
But in a pinch I was thinking of how to slip some dies over the plate roll

Dad had a really nice big hydraulic set here that he sold before he retired and I came on board. I don't remember seeing a badge or a logo on them, but I'll ask, they were superb.

Problem with doing it in a plate rolls is the lack of backup rollers to keep the ring flat...

make a couple rings with grooves in them deep enough to accept the leg of the angle iron. bore them out to fit over the roller and hold them in place with a couple set screws (it shouldn't take much to keep them in place)

I'd be amazed if a couple set screws would keep the rings in place and you still will need side rollers. Particularly for rolling angle. Less trouble if rolling symmetric profiles

Do side rollers need to roll or can they ride? For the everyonce in a while job

I imagine some hard pins with some grease would be ok. The side pin/roller setup needs to be strong. There’s a lot of force applied when rolling asymmetric profiles.
