I would like to set up my shop with a bridge crane for moving around relatively light weight parts/ assemblies. Max weight around 500 lbs most less than 150 lbs. Anyone have experience with the light weight "workstation" cranes ? Gorbel seems like the top brand? They claim to be easier to move around than a traditional I beam type crane... 20 ' wide and 40' long is about what I would be looking for. Free standing type with posts. Or maybe with this light weight just hang them from my metal building structure?

Electric vs air hoist?

Of course I should have built a bridge crane into the building when I put it up but live and learn.

Seems like used workstation cranes go pretty cheap. I will probably go that route.

A friend of mine has a workstation crane about that size. Let me know if you're interested and I'll put you in touch.

a lot of the local irrigation pump assembly shops around here use those. maybe a little heavier lift. but they seem to really like them. when the shop reorganizes they just move all the pieces and set them back up
