Featurecam programmer $35-$38 per hour starting in Odessa Florida

I got an email from a recruiter last night looking for a Featurecam programmer and thought I would pass it along. I’m pretty sure I know the shop and not many FC jobs in that area. It’s a nice shop full of large Haas VF-9 and 11’s a few smaller machines. The Owner has a sweet gig making copper...

Thoughts on building a post processor database?

In the past few weeks if had some calls from old clients that I vouched for Powershape and Featurecam needing post. Normally the maintenance would cover this but with all that’s going on at Autodesk (and most other Cam developers) not many are drinking the cool aid anymore. Apparently AD is back...

    Samsung Bar deal

I wasn’t quite sure where to stick this, CNC, Cad/Cam, For Sale... Anyway, a few years ago we were having some drip feed issues with our Sandisk sticks and a guy gave me a Samsung Bar 3.1 USB stick and it fixed the problem. I had a couple of these now but needed several more now that i've...

Has anyone else had problems getting off SolidWorks email list?

I haven’t been to the SW website in months but all of a sudden i'm getting daily newsletters in three different POP email accounts. I click the unsub button on every one and then the next day there it is again. I finally did the delete all my info thinking that would take care of it but nope...

Looks like Swissmak and Perry are getting found out now.

looks like the backers are getting pissed now. They finally found that bastard and want their money back. I’ve been waiting before I brought that lying fuck up on here but since the other site locked that awesome thread and we can’t update his scams I figured bring it here. This should...

Using Raspberry Pi for tool breakage detector?

Iv'e been interested in these little works of wonder for a while and constantly thinking of all the applications in a shop where it could be used. I was looking through their peripherals earlier and one they have a laser tripwire that would be super simple to make a tool breakage detector. I...

Solid Carbide miniature high feed mills???

This popped up in my feed today and definitely caught my eye. I didn't even know they made solid carbide high feed mills. There's a lot of yapping in this guys vid but the ending is pretty good. The firs few minutes are showing the tool but the cutting doesn't start until the 27 minute area...

Haas admits it’s making machines lighter to save money.

Well this sucks. I was watching a vid on the new TM0p and the head of engineering admits they are making casting lighter to save money in a market where cast cost more. Such a shame,. I would like to have one of those in the garage.

Any of you guys have experience with Fermat?

Although I more than likely will never have the work nor the money to afford one of these beast but she sure is nice. Nothing like a 5X gantry that can mill, turn, laser harden and surface grind all in one. Their Horizontals look quite nice as well. Who wouldn't want an air conditioned...

    My industrial Realestate for sale

Not really tooling but maybe interesting to someone. Apparently Tennessee has some stupid law called "Arms link" that doesn't allow family members to purchase estate real-estate and i'm being forced to sell my properties where my shop was. The add is missing a lot and getting in touch with the...

    Featurecam Backdating Post

A while back on the PM site wheelieking71 ask me to help see if I could get some post to work with an older version of Featurecam (2014). They had been accidentally saved to a newer version and in Featurecam's brilliance they made it no longer backwards compatible. I have worked on them off and...

    Venturi Vacuum Pallet System

Way back I needed a vacuum pallet system when we were prototyping the Nook. I liked the Mighty Vacmagic but needed a bit narrower and longer. Attached is a modified version to use as a vacuum pallet changer or stay in place vacuum plate that works off shop air with no vacuum or venturi pump...

The model is off because the design is for a Mazak knob but all I has was a Haas knob cad file. The Solid works file is included.
