    Mastercam post editing

I'm trying to Edit the MPFAN.PST post I have for Mastercam X2. I have tried using Cimco Edit and Mastercam's own editor. I can make all the changes I like, but when I go to save it, it won't save as a .PST file, only as .TXT or .NC so Mastercam won't recognize it. Anyone know what I'm missing?

Taper pipe plugs for expanding fixtures?

I've built a few fixtures using the Mitee Bite XYZ expanding pins. They work decent, but I'd like a lower cost/simpler alternative for low volume fixtures. I've used pipe plugs to expand shafts before in assemblies and I built part of a fixture where the pipe plug permanently expanded to lock...

How do you store your grinding wheels?

I just got about 40 good 14" grinding wheels. Is there a good way to store them that doesn't take a ton of room?

Is there any very old Yaskawa robot support?

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1045627920030810/?referralSurface=messenger_lightspeed_banner&referralCode=messenger_banner 1990 Yasnac controller. These would have parameters like CNC controls right? Seller has a mountain of books for it, but doesn't know what any of it is, whether...

    Mechanical jacks are handy

2 pcs 4" plate sitting where I'm putting a pallet rack upright. Old 15 ton simplex didn't even notice it. These are handy jacks.

Pitbull type clamps that can disappear below fixture surface?

I'm devising a single fixture to make a bunch of similar aluminum plate parts I've made for many years. It would be super great if there was a pitbull style clamp that would easily drop below the fixture surface for the second op. Anything like that exist?

My first optical comparator (almost iso9001 now!)

In the spirit of Black Friday I offered to pay a significantly discounted price for this nearby Deltronic DH216 optical comparator. It has only a 50X lens and the surface lighting doesn't work, but otherwise seems functional. I see quite a few of these Deltronic machines for sale. As far as...

Considerations for changing style of way cover seals?

I was surprised to find I don't have the material in stock to reseal the way covers on my old Kitamura Mycenter1. I got a pretty healthy stock of way cover repair parts. It uses a style with a brass backing strip and lots of tiny screws. My newer Kit 5X uses Hennig 290 way cover seals which...

    Accidental new machine day!

1989 Kitamura Mycenter1 It was cheap and nearby. I felt like I needed it in my life more than $650. Not sure yet why I need it or how much work it needs, but not everything in life has to make sense I spose. I've been pretty good about buying machines for awhile. Definitely some large and...

    Fellows 10-4 capabilities

Holding off on the Fellows #7 purchase until I investigate a local Fellows Fanuc 10-4. This is a significantly larger machine. 14K lbs VS 3500 lbs. Too big really for the area I have for it. But If I can get it for a good price I'm going to make the room it needs. Has anyone programmed one of...

What happens when you hob teeth on the wrong pitch diameter?

I need to cut 60 sensor target teeth into a 2.7" blank (lots of them). I'd rather not tie up a mill and indexer just doing this- I have a Hobber! I'd like to use a cheap, off the shelf hob. The teeth are too small on Mod 1 or 24DP. Mod 1.25 or 20DP don't work out. 22DP is pretty darn close...

    Bar feeder alignment/use?

Going through the alignment process with a 42mm SMW/Sameca 12' hydrodynamic feeder on my Hardinge 42SP. I have to disassemble the front of the feeder barrel and take the pushers completely out to feed the weedeater string through the bar feeder right?

What driver for 4mm Mitee-bite fixture screws?

New high density fixture has a lot of clamps with 4mm SHCS's. Torque value is a couple ft/lbs. What power tools are used to drive these in production shops?

Converting Stronghold cabinets for toolholder storage

I have been storing Cat40 and Cat50 toolholders in Tennsco metal cabinets, but they are not stout enough for the weight. A shelf buckled so time for an upgrade. A couple weeks ago I picked up a pair of 36W 24D Stronghold cabinets at auction. Last week I ordered 216 Heyco 2417 bushings for...

    Gage/indicator lens/glass replacement?

I've been binging on Ebay bore gages lately. I've got a few that are missing the curved plastic lens over the face or it is loose and falls off. Is there an economical way to fix these?

Is this Sunnen 660 a good hone?

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1004966697329864/?ref=search&referral_code=null&referral_story_type=post&tracking=browse_serp%3A5955a041-8060-404b-bfa8-8ba87b4f5219 I'm thinking about picking up a better hone than the Sunnen LBN I have. The LBN is a bit clunky to use and while it has...

Tools for CNC cylinder head bowl/seat work

Getting my dyno setup. 3 engines in process (conservative 12 valve Cummins). I have 3 different cylinder head castings apart on my bench and they're all different in the bowls. I've done quite a few hand port jobs on these heads from mild to hogged out and the mildest nets the best results on...

    BT40 speeder

https://www.ebay.com/itm/225122813331 Might be worth a $30 bet. If I read the bad picture right it's a 5:1 35,000 RPM max speeder. That could be pretty handy for the right feller.

    Identify this Fellows?

Fascinating guy in his 80's came into my shop today. He started one of the Portland gear shops 40 years ago. He has a small Fellows, a truckload of cutters and guides for it and a truckload of hobs he wants to move on to someone who can use it for pretty cheap. He also offered to set it up and...
